Incorporating a relaxing facial before bedtime is not only beneficial for healthy skin, but it also helps your body prepare for a deep, restorative night of sleep. Inspired by our Sleepy Beauty collection, here’s our go-to nighttime facial to help rejuvenate your skin and achieve the calm and balance you need to get to sleep faster and stay asleep longer.

Step 1: Set the mood

Why not fully lean into your nighttime routine by setting the mood for relaxation? Lighting some candles and drawing a bath will help calm your mind and body by signaling to the brain that sleep is coming soon. Essential oils are our preferred method of aromatherapy for relaxation. You can use either an essential oil diffuser or a pre-mixed blend in a spray or roll-on. Our My Om World is ideal for spritzing around your bathroom. Step 2: Thoroughly cleanse your skin

Create a blank canvas for the rest of your skincare routine by double-cleansing your skin. Our favorite way to double cleanse is with a cleansing balm and then an exfoliator.

Many assume a cleanser needs to foam and tingle to clean your skin effectively. However, oil-based cleansers can arguably clean your pores even deeper—all without over-drying. Cleansing balms remove makeup gently and efficiently, and since oil dissolves oil, they help balance an overproduction of sebum. Step 3: Perform a facial massage

Not much in this world feels better than a massage, and facial massage is no exception. Not only does it feel incredible, but facial massage stimulates blood flow, bringing more oxygen to the tissue, decreases puffiness, and relieves tension.

Specific massage techniques will also help promote lymphatic drainage, which aids in removing toxins and encouraging the lymphatic system to deliver fresh nutrients to your cells. Using your hands, a gua sha tool, or a jade roller, slowly and gently massage from the center of your face, moving outwards and upwards. Start at your jawline, then at your lips, around your cheekbones, browbones, and lastly, your forehead. Repeat 5-10 times with intermediate strokes downward at the sides of your neck to help drain the excess fluids from your face.

Step 4: Apply your retinol alternative
