Which Oils Are Best for Your Face? Your Ultimate Guide to Radiant Skin

Posted by YUNI Beauty on

Nature holds a treasure trove of elixirs filled with vital nutrients such as omega fatty acids and vitamins A, C, and E that are beneficial for the skin. Although natural skincare is on the rise, cultures all over the world have long embraced the transformative benefits of facial oil.

Facial oils are derived from the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds, or fruits of plants and are known for their ability to lock in moisture and promote healthy skin. With so many options out there (literally hundreds), it can be overwhelming to know which oils are best suited for the skin on your face, let alone specific concerns. Thankfully, our team of experts has done the research so you can feel confident choosing the right face oil for your skin.

Baobab Oil

Baobab oil is generally known for its regenerative abilities, and with a low rating of two on the comedogenic scale, it is an excellent oil for the face. The iconic African plant oil softens skin and helps heal imperfections due to its antioxidants, ample amounts of vitamins A, B, and C, and omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. It also contains magnesium, potassium, and calcium.

We included baobab oil in our Face and Body Scrub to smooth and soften skin, relieve redness and irritation from breakouts, and balance sebum production without over-drying.

Jojoba Oil

This versatile elixir is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, leaving the skin supple, nourished, and glowing. Mimicking the skin's natural sebum, jojoba oil is a master of balance, making it ideal for all skin types. Its lightweight texture imparts deep hydration without clogging pores, making it particularly suitable for oily and acne-prone skin.

We couldn't leave out jojoba oil from our Light Seeker Facial Oil. It sinks in perfectly, so you can use it as a primer for makeup or layer with lotion and sunscreen for a flawless finish.

Marula Oil

Marula oil, often referred to as nature's beauty elixir, is a luxurious facial oil derived from the kernels of the marula fruit. Bursting with antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and vitamins, this lightweight oil is a potent multitasker for the skin. Marula oil on your face offers deep hydration and nourishment, working harmoniously to improve skin elasticity, promote a youthful glow, and address concerns like fine lines and uneven texture. Its fast-absorbing nature makes it an excellent choice for all skin types, from dry to oily, leaving your complexion revitalized and radiant.

We also included this glow-boosting ingredient into our Light Seeker to round out the revitalizing blend of oils.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp seed oil, or cannabis sativa seed oil, is one of the few oils that rates zero on the comedogenic scale — meaning it won’t clog pores at all. Any skin type will benefit from this nourishing oil, but oily and acne-prone will feel secure knowing it won’t cause breakouts. Rich in omega fatty acids and boasting anti-inflammatory properties, this lightweight oil calms and rebalances skin into perfect harmony.

Sensitive, stressed, and irritated skin will find calm with our hemp seed oil-infused Zenicure Facial Oil.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil, often lauded as a natural multitasker, is a nurturing ingredient that offers deep hydration and a protective shield for the skin. Whether or not to apply coconut oil on the face is a common question. We find that mature and dry skin types will benefit from coconut oil’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which assist in calming redness and soothing irritation. At the same time, its wealth of antioxidants contribute to a youthful glow.

Among many other key natural ingredients in the formula, you’ll find coconut oil in our Active Calm Firming Facial Moisturizer.

Buriti Oil

Lesser known, but no less powerful, buriti oil is the richest known source of beta-carotene. It is full of healthy essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamin E to reduce irritation and protect and restore skin. Dry, aging, and sensitive skin types will benefit from buriti oil's rich consistency and high levels of vitamin A, which promotes cellular turnover.

You'll find buriti oil blended into our Active Calm Firming Moisturizer, among other potent oils and active plant extracts.

If you desire healthy and radiant skin, plant-based facial oils can be a great choice, regardless of whether you prefer natural products or science-backed skincare. It all starts with understanding your unique skin needs and finding the right facial oil match.

Still wondering which oil is good for skin? It is always advisable to consult with your dermatologist and conduct a patch test before using any skincare products on your face. This is to ensure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients.
